Mad House Helsinki and the Reality Research Center (TTK) are merging

Mad House Helsinki and the Center for Reality Studies (TTK) are merging . Preparations for the merger have progressed smoothly through close cooperation. The membership gave its preliminary support for the merger last fall, and at the annual meetings held on May 12, 2026, the members of both associations unanimously approved the merger agreement and the new rules, thereby confirming the merger.

“We wanted to keep the process open, and our members have been involved in planning the new association’s operations and strategy throughout the entire process,” says Katja Kirsi, Executive Director of RRC.

The merger will be carried out in such a way that operations will continue under RRC’s business ID, and the Mad House Helsinki association will be dissolved through a liquidation process. We will proceed in stages so that operations, collaborations, and day-to-day practices can be established in a sustainable and clear manner before the new association begins operations in early 2027.

The new association will remain a member-based organization, and its members will continue to play an important role in its operations and in building the community.

Performance activities will be concentrated in the Parvisali Stage at House of Text, which has been used for Mad House’s diverse performance program since 2023. At the same time, we want to honor RRC’s long tradition of reality research and preserve the richness of various forms of performance art.

“In our upcoming program, we want to make room for new and experimental art. At the same time, next program will still reflect the traditions of Mad House and RRC. It is important to us to preserve the uniqueness of both organizations as we move toward the future,” say Marianne Savallampi, Mad House’s Executive Director and Curator, and Olga Spyropoulou, RRC’s Artistic Director.

Together, we’re building a new future for our association and creating new opportunities in the performing arts!
