Findlay//Sandsmark: broken (iteration III – for Helsinki)
In collaboration with "Moving in November"
"broken (iteration III – for Helsinki)" is a swan song, a funeral song, a last song, a farewell song. The creation of the work was coincided with Findlay//Sandsmark losing their RIMI/IMIR SceneKunstin Stavanger, Norway, in 2024.
As an artwork, it turned out to serve as a delicate “farewell" piece for stages in general and to the ways in which they can disappear into the ether. In the frame of Moving in November the artist duet shares an iterative version of the work for Mad House Helsinki and the Reality Research Center.
“Withbroken (iteration III – for Helsinki) , we wanted to refrain from constructing a pre-text to the work. It just did't somehow feel right considering the work's openness and sensibility. The work is a culmination of many different artistic threads and an open frame for the audience to expereince without being addled ot burdened with terms, narrative, or ideas of aboutness. “Set yourself free!”

The performance is part of “Moving in November” 5.–15.11.2026. As part of the festival there will be an "Soup Talks" discussions with Findlay, Sandsmark and local hoston November 14 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cultural Center Caisa.
BIO
Findlay//Sandsmark is a performance company based between Stavanger and Flørli in Lysefjord, making work in a process-driven and collective approach. They work across disciplinary boundaries to create live art that resonates in circulatory system comprised of equally valued mediums, focused through a choreographic prism and movement-based foundation.
In addition to creating performances and installations, they are the initiators of the RIMI/IMIR Scene Kunst and Outpost Hillevåg art space in Stavanger, as well as the (O)utpost Flørli festival and residency. Both projects are manifestations and extensions of the artistic platform of Findlay//Sandsmark and are related to their continuous and always strong drive and engagement to foster and make spaces for artistic exchange, curation, and building community. and expand Findlay//Sandsmark’s artistic practice and are linked to their ongoing commitment to fostering artistic exchange, curation, and community-building, as well as creating spaces for these activities.
