Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Sound
Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Sound reflects the interplay of divergent experiences, temporal disjunctions, and the nuanced exploration of fear, identity, and neurodiversity in a performative context, set in real and speculative spaces such as outer-space and in mines; by drawing on schizophrenia as a methodology.
The aim of the work is to reduce stigma. It uses shame within a socio-historical context to approach the realities, lives experiences and stories of people with varied identities of mad, ´hearing voices´, neurodiverse and/or disabled.
The work is composed of video, poetry, comedy, sketch theatre, mythological references, aesthetic myths and live performances.
Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Sound is a co-production of Mad House Helsinki and Reality Research Center. The work will premiere in May 2025.
