The merger between the Reality Research Center and Mad House Helsinki is progressing as planned

The merger process between the Reality Research Center (TTK) and Mad House Helsinki is progressing as planned and with joint efforts. The organisations have worked closely together over the past two years, which has led to the idea of a shared future. With a special grant from the Arts Promotion Center Finland in spring 2025, preparatory work for the merger has been carried out, and in August 2025, the members of both associations gave a strong mandate to process with  the merger.

The year 2026 will be a pilot year for TTK and Mad House, during which collaboration will deepen and the preparatory work will continue. During the spring, the merger plan and the strategic direction of the new organisation will be finalised. The aim is that the members of both associations will be able to vote on the content of the merger agreement in May 2026.

Contemporary performance art in Finland has developed into a highly professional and respected field with strong  international revelance. However, there is still a lack of production and organisational support structures that would enable  long-term and visionary development of the field. Through this merger, our goal is to create an organisation in which artists and other professionals in the field can work in fair and sustainable conditions – and  above all, focus on making and supporting art.
