NOTE! 26.9 event is full.

Practices of Love and Body is a series of events in which the working group shares their artistic work through discussion, experimentation and listening. The events are based on the artistic practices of the members of the group.

The event invites you as a participant to watch and to hear, to be heard if you wish, or to just spend time, drink coffee, think and put aside your everyday pressures. Performing practices are shared, embodied experiences. As a way of being, they need to be witnessed. Precarious Practices is a working platform of ten dance artists whose aim is to create a space for practicing and observing unfinished work.

On 26 Septermber at 7pm, spectators are introduced to SoileVoima's and Pie Kär's performance practices. SoileVoima's praxis is about creating a physical relationship with objects and materials - and how, through this body-object-practice, one can build a physico-visual space and/or situation. Pie Kär explores gaze, body, and movement in the traditional, frontal arrangement of a performance. What happens if the performer actively refuses to perform, while the observer actively calls for a performance?

A self-employed artist is in an economically and socially precarious and unstable position. Precarious Practices supports the freelance artist's ability to do meaningful artistic work and allow artistic practices to materialize despite difficult working conditions.

Working group: Elias Girod, Tiia Kasurinen, Ella-Noora Koikkalainen, Sanni Kriikku, Pie Kär, Taru Koski, Jan Nyberg, Anne Rönkkö, Tuuli Vahtola, Vanessa Virta ja Soile Voima.

Rest of the event dates TBA (weeks 48 and 50)
